Library Lovers Month Is Here  

Every February is Library Lovers Month—time to celebrate the role libraries play in our communities. Here at Hoopla, it’s a very special month. Hoopla partners with libraries, and each of us is committed to connecting libraries with digital media. During Library Lovers Month, many patrons are surprised to learn just how much their library offers. Go online to check out what your own library has to offer. 

Here is a roundup of what many libraries provide. Library Lovers Month is the perfect excuse to show your library a little extra love. 

  • 🧩 Library of Things: Lots of libraries let you borrow way more than books—think baking pans, sewing machines, board games, art supplies, puzzles, and even garden tools. 
  • 🔌 Tech Help and Internet Access: Libraries are great spots for free Wi-Fi, public computers, printing, scanning, and often even 3D printing. Some libraries will also let you check out Wi-Fi hotspots to take home. 
  • 🎭 Programs and Events for All Ages: Libraries are a community gathering spot. Many host kids’ story times and book clubs, craft nights, movie screenings, and money-smart workshops. Check out their calendar—there’s usually something fun (and free) happening. 
  • 📝 Everyday Community Support: Need a notary? Lots of libraries offer notary services, as well as passport services (no lines!), and host tax help sessions. 
  • 📚🎬 Digital Reads and Streaming with Hoopla: Your library card can unlock eBooks, audiobooks, and streaming movies and music with Hoopla. If your library doesn’t offer Hoopla yet, talk to a librarian! Using Hoopla is one more way to support your library while discovering new favorites—whether that’s a bestselling audiobook or a movie night pick.
