Recently, Hoopla was named by IGN as one of the best free comic book sites and apps, and the best way to read all Invincible comics online. If you haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for?
The animated TV show Invincible recently wrapped its third season on Amazon Prime and has already been renewed for a fourth. It features the voice talents of Steven Yeun as teenage superhero Mark Grayson and J.K. Simmons and Sandra Oh as his parents, with appearances from Walton Goggins, Calista Flockhart, Zachary Quinto, Mark Hamill, Reginald VelJohnson, and Lea Thompson, to name just a few.
Invincible started as a comic book series created by writer Robert Kirkman along with illustrators Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. Spanning 144 issues from 2003 through 2018, it centers on teenager Mark Grayson as his superpowers begin to develop—and you can read them all on Hoopla.
The spinoff series, Invincible Universe: Battle Beast, is here
While the Invincible TV show is animated, both it and the comic series are known for their brutal violence and mature themes and are not recommended for younger audiences. For adult audiences, though, the combination of action, adventure, and humor has led to critical and audience acclaim.
Robert Kirkman comics have been popular since he began his career in the early 2000s. He is best known as the writer and cocreator (along with artist Tony Moore) of The Walking Dead, which ran for 193 issues. Starting in 2010, it was developed into a hugely popular television show that itself spawned a number of spinoffs.
And if you love the Invincible universe, be sure to check out The Boys, written by Garth Ennis with artwork by Darick Robertson, another adult series that turns superhero tropes on their head. You can also find more Robert Kirkman comics, such as his debut, Battle Pope, Outcast, and the ongoing Void Rivals. With thousands of titles available, there’s always plenty to explore on Hoopla!
